Plockton Inn

In 2023 Cameron Painters & Decorators Ltd were appointed ames taping, painting and decorating subcontractor for the renovation of Plockton Inn by the main contractor Compass Building & Construction Services Ltd.

The newly plasterboard ceilings and walls were mechanically taped with scrim tape to joints, paper tape to internals and steel tape to externals and sanded with a vacuum dust extraction system. Mechanically taped ceilings and walls were sealed in a white vinyl matt by airless spray gun in preparation for decorative finishes.

The Plockton Inn bedroom walls have a single feature wall with a dado rail fixed to the other walls. Below the dado Dulux Trade’s Vinyl Matt in Blue Crab and above it Dulux Trade’s Vinyl Matt Desert Sand were all airless sprayed. While either Mairi Helena’s Shore Waders or Poppy Cloud wallpapers were hung by hand on the feature wall.

Timber finishings that include the architraves, frames, doors, and skirtings were coated in the same Blue Crab colour with Dulux Trade’s Eggshell and the sash and case windows retained their white eggshell coating all brush applied.

The bar, restaurant and dining room were dressed with the feature wallpapers Zela Emerald or Chronicle Emerald from Harlequin by Sanderson Design Group with main paper Sequence Sediment all hung by hand. The restaurant timbers were finished by brush in a Dark Teal using Dulux Trade’s Eggshell whereas the bar area received Osmo Polyx Oil Clear Satin.
